Analyst Omkar Godbowl notes a shift in institutional investor interest towards Ethereum. According to him:
On Deribit, traders actively buy ETH call options.
Open interest in Ether futures on CME has grown by 186% since April to $3.15 billion.
For comparison, bitcoin grew by 70% to $17 billion, and has slowed down in recent days.
Futures premiums confirm the trend:
- For monthly ETH futures, the annual premium reached 10.57% (the highest since January).
- Bitcoin has 8.74%.
Financing rates have also increased:
- Perpetual ether futures have almost 8%
- Bitcoin has less than 5%.
Vitalik Buterin previously noted that Ethereum can become a reliable alternative to centralized payment systems - against the backdrop of growing interest, this statement is gaining new relevance.
