Crypto exchange Coinbase has faced two class action lawsuits due to a leak of user data, which became known on May 15.
Claims filed:
- To the Northern District Court of California (GB Law Group)
- To the Court of the Southern District of New York (Pantaki and Kraus)
Charges:
- Security negligence
- Concealment of the leak from May 11 to May 15
- Lack of risk protection systems
Coinbase has not yet commented, but has previously commented:
- Confirmed the refusal to pay the ransom
- I appealed to the authorities
- She promised compensation for losses and $20 million for the investigation
COIN shares fell by -7.2%, now trading at $242.85 (↓ from $263.41)
The leak came just days after Coinbase was included in the S&P 500 index
