Coinbase confirmed the data leak of 69.4 thousand users

As a result of a cyberattack in December 2024, the personal data of 69,420 Coinbase customers was compromised. This is stated in a notice to the Maine Attorney's Office.

– Attackers bribed support contractors outside the United States

"With the help of their accounts, we got access to the data

– Criminals extorted $20 million

– Coinbase refused to pay and announced a reward of the same amount for help in catching

 Compensation for victims:

– Free access to the credit activity monitoring service

– Insurance policy up to $1 million

– Darknet monitoring and recovery of leaked information

 The incident affected less than 1% of active Coinbase (NASDAQ: COIN) users
